Background
Michael Gross offers a depth and breadth of experience that make him a unique asset to an organization. Currently with Longboard Advisors, Michael (Mike) does digital marketing, partner marketing and demand generation with a range of companies. He’s worked with Trend Micro, VMware, and Towers Watson, among others.
Most recently, Michael has been with ACS (Affiliated Computer Services), a Fortune 500 Business Process and IT Outsourcing firm. As a Director of Alliances and Marketing, he was recruited to drive the partner and marketing functions around On-Demand Application Services (including SAP & Oracle) and Microsoft Services. He assessed, defined and executed partner program strategy involving On-Demand services. In addition, he was responsible for the continual development and evangelizing of ACS’ Applications Value Proposition to internal and external groups, including Analysts (i.e. IDC, Gartner), Customers, and the partner ecosystem. In addition, Michael drove all marketing activities including PR, Collateral, Customer Stories, Events and Lead Generation.
Prior to ACS, Michael Gross with SunSystems as a Regional Director of Product Marketing, where he redesigned the company’s value proposition to spearhead entry into the hospitality and financial services verticals. This included re-branding of the company’s products and awareness in the marketplace. Additionally, he drove several new product launches that included branding, awareness and sales campaigns. Further, he managed media relations and agency work in the Americas for placement in key publications, including corporate messaging and press release development.
With the Oracle Corporation, Michael held several roles during his 5-year tenure. This included Marketing Manager, where he was responsible for partner programs geared at both thought leadership and sales lead generation. These programs were incorporated into global corporate marketing campaigns to increase revenue generation opportunities and expand industry footprints. In addition, he developed and executed co-marketing and sales partnership with Tier I global consulting firms. This strategy included a lead generation program, white papers and an executive briefing series targeted at senior corporate officers.
As a Pre-Sales Consultant, Michael was part of the Mid-Market sales team that regularly over-achieved its quotas, attaining on average 190% of its sales targets during his tenure with the team. He provided applications expertise for needs analysis, competitive positioning, business justification and closing.
Previously in his career, Michael has been with such organizations as EDS (Electronic Data Systems) and Coopers and Lybrand.
Michal Gross’s received his Bachelor of Science degree from Trinity University, in San Antonio Texas. He serves on the Boards of the DFW American Marketing Association, and Blue Knot Association, and is a founding member of the Dallas Chapter of the Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals.
